Many people have many different ways to lucid dream. One of my friend uses 8 different techniques for one session. Here are some helpers ive found(not in any kind of order):
1. Sleeping in intervals of 3-4 hours at a time 2. Taking naps 3. Astral project before going to sleep 4. Sleeping naked(helped me for some reason) 5. Sleeping with your head pointing toward the north (i dont get that one) 6. Feng Shui your room 7. Try something call consciousness walking, its something the shamans did. Its easy, just try to observe everything without objectivity or judgement, and at random times ask yourself questions while your awake, suck as "am i sleeping?" or "is this a dream?" And while your asleep and in dream mode, try looking at your hand and saying " i am sleeping" or "i am dreaming". 8. Become a vegetarian. 9. Have one of your friends send telepathic images to you while you sleep.(which is done by you being in a REM state, and your friend thiking of you and the message at the same time for about 1-2 hours). 10. Develop a psyhological problem( i dont recommend)
Those are just a few. Some wiccans and pagans seem to have rituals that are meant to induce this state of sleep. Look around, not one technique is quarenteed to work for everyone.

This is how I did it.
For one week, drink a lot of water before going to bed. You'll wake up at 3:00am or so in the middle of your dream, DON'T GO TO THE WASHROOM YET! As quickly and accuratly as possible right down everything that happened in the dream (make sure you don't scribble). Do that for 1-2 weeks. After that look at the list or the information and note down ANY similarities. For me it was people I knew kept being in my dreams SO everytime I saw someone I knew I'd ask me self a serious question: Am I dreaming? I got use to askign that question and I seriously was thinking "No really..am I dream?" everytime I saw someone I knew. Hopefully your similarity isn't so broad but lets says its a stop sign. So everytime you see a stop sign ask yourself..am I dream and think hard about it. Do that for a week or so and next time you see a stop sign in your dream...what are you going to do??? LET ME HEAR IT PPL! You'll ask yourself: "Am I dreaming?"... hey..what..the.."I AM DREAMING!" Then you can do whatever you want just don't get too excited or you'll wakeup. One more thing, occasionally you might feel that your losing control over what is happening..that means your waking up. DON'T PANIC! Do this, look to the "sky" or "up" and extend your arms and start spinning around!!! Yea! It works! Works good for teleportation in your dream too! Try flying or whatever be creative and GO CRAZY! Hope I helped!

Just because we can't see them, doesn't mean they are not out there.

That seems interesting. I am going to try that. Thank you for sharing that.
